Sweep is built so that your photos, videos and contacts never leave your device. This policy describes, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your data.
Sweep has no user accounts, no servers of its own, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. Everything the app does — scanning your library, detecting duplicates, picking the best shot in a burst, merging contacts — happens entirely on your iPhone or iPad.
When you grant Photos access, Sweep reads your library only on-device to analyse it. Duplicate detection and "best of series" selection use Apple's on-device Vision framework. Image data is never uploaded anywhere. When you choose to delete items, the deletion is performed by iOS through the standard system confirmation — items go to "Recently Deleted", where you can still recover them for 30 days.
If you use the contact-merge feature and grant Contacts access, Sweep reads your contacts on-device to find duplicates. Merging is performed locally through Apple's Contacts framework and only after you confirm. Contact data is never transmitted off the device.
Nothing. Sweep does not make any network requests to collect data. It has no advertising identifier access, no crash-reporting service, and no usage analytics. The app's App Store privacy label reflects this: Data Not Collected.
Sweep Pro is an optional subscription handled entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). We never see your payment details. Apple processes the transaction under Apple's Privacy Policy. The app stores only a local flag on your device to remember whether Pro is active.
To avoid re-scanning your whole library every launch, Sweep keeps a small on-device index (image fingerprints and identifiers) in the app's private storage. It stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Sweep is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
